Few, the party is over! Amazing amazing woman:)

So the party went off last night without a hitch! It was such a great night, and all of the kids were very respectful and fun.  We ended up getting about 250 people and we raised nearly 400$ for kions for Kenya.  What a great way for kids to be involved in a good cause and have a lot of fun! The next thing I wanted to talk about was an amazing story I read in the news today.  It was about a woman who is named Grandma butterfield, and she has been volunteering at an elementary school for the past six years.  She just goes and spends her time with children, hoping to help them succeed.  I thought this was an incredible story.  It is people like Grandma Butterfield who change the world. Even though most of us cant volunteer for six years at an elementary school, we still have the power to make a difference.  Reach out, Pass it on!

Kions for Kenya party!!!:)

So this friday (May 20) I am throwing a huge end of year party and everyone is invited. I usually have one every year but I decided that since it is my senior year my friends and I should go out with a bang. This year instead of just the same old, same old, we are going all out. We are hoping to get people from all over the place, including Salem Hills (go skyhawks!), Spanish Fork, Maple Mountain, Payson and Springville. It is going to be huge! It is going to be a pool party so that in of itself is going to be fun. This year we are also getting a real DJ so there will be lots of music and dancing, remember to keep it clean! We will also be providing lots of food, volleyball, basketpall, ping pong, just dance on the Wii, and a huge projector playing a movie all night. You guys dont want to miss out on this party! The best part of the whole thing is that it is only going to cost 2$, and 100% of the proceedings will go to the charity foundation of kions for kenya. This will be a great opportunity to come have some good fun, and give to a worthy cause. All extra donations beyond 2$ will also be greatly appreciated! My address is 4 South Hillside Drive, Elk Ridge. Just follow the balloons and they will lead you straight here. I hope to see TONS of people there, call

or email me if you would like directions, or would like to help bring food:) Peace out for now!

Orphanage in Mexico

This past month my family and I got the opportunity to go to Mexico. While we were there we sought out an orphanage and went and visited with some of the little boys. There were thirty one adorable little boys, and we are now officially best friends:)I talked to the manager and I have been able to set up some awesome connections. I will soon be putting together a fundraiser for my new friends, and I'd love for every one to help out! I am planning on going down there again soon, and I hope to be able to supply the orphanage with some fun supplies.

Some of the things needed are: Pens, pencils, notebooks, books, crayons, colouring books, or money donations. If you would like to donate or even help with the fundraiser at all contact me at either rachyfitz6@gmail.com or at 801-400-8038

Reaching Out......pass it on!

Service is not only important for those you are serving but it is also important for you.  Studies have shown that those who serve others often lead a much happier life style.   Mohandas Gandhi said "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others".  There are many things in your everyday life that anyone can do to help one another.  The purpose of my blog is to inform people what they can do to get up, make a differnce and serve.  Growing up I always wanted to serve others but I never knew what I could do to get involved.  Because of my experience I have been inspired to help others in my same predicament find ways to serve.  My hope is to help others find the joy I feel when I offer my time and talents to others.  Look around your life and community to reach out to those who are either in desperate need of help, or even just need a friend.  Serving others within our communities will in turn change the world; reach out and do your part.

I am currently looking for stories of personal experiences of service that have influenced your life.  I would love it if you could send your story to my email so I can share them with others.  Please send them to rachyfitz6@gmail.com
